Doug Howard

Doug Howard is an experienced business attorney primarily focused on mergers and acquisitions, private equity (including mezzanine funds), corporate finance, corporate governance, restructuring transactions, and general business/contractual matters. Doug represents private equity funds and venture capital funds, their portfolio companies and other operating businesses, mezzanine funds, independent sponsors and senior lenders.

Doug’s client base is primarily comprised of middle market funds and independent sponsors, their portfolio companies, other operating companies and senior lenders.

Prior to Zarren Law Group, LLC, Doug was a Partner at Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice, LLP and Duane Morris LLP. He also practiced law at DLA Piper US LLP and Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP.

​Doug has been an active member of the Maryland legal community and is also licensed to practice law in Washington, D.C. and New York.  He obtained his Juris Doctor from Cornell Law School where he was general editor of Cornell International Law Journal, and a graduate of St. John’s College (M.A.) and Salisbury University (B.A.).

Doug was born in Salisbury, Maryland, grew-up on a farm in Powellville, Maryland, and has spent his entire professional career in Maryland other than his initial year working in Washington, D.C.
